MÄHREN AG 2017 with half a billion-euro transaction volume

Sale of two property portfolios with altogether 2,197 units for about 287.5 million euros
2017 acquisition volume already at 180-million-euro level; further acquisitions planned
Berlin, September 12, 2017. MÄHREN AG, a long-term oriented portfolio holder with a focus on residential properties, has completed transactions worth almost 470 million euros in the current year, thus in the first nine months of 2017 already achieving the best annual result since the company’s foundation. “Our acquisition pipeline is well filled. With acquisitions already agreed in the near future, in 2017 we will be reaching the half a billion-euro transaction level,” says Jakob Mähren, CEO Mähren AG.

MÄHREN AG recently sold two property portfolios with altogether 62 buildings and 2,197 units in Berlin, Halle (Saale), Magdeburg and Leipzig for about 287.5 million euros. The buyers are ADO Properties and Brack Capital (Brack Capital Properties N.V.).

In the transactions, MÄHREN AG was represented by the Luther Attorney Firm.

We have leveraged the currently very favorable market for dis-posals and thus significantly boosted our liquidity basis for new acquisition projects on a large scale. We will be expanding our portfolio significantly. The dynamics of the residential property market – not least the now very protracted upswing – demand the continuous adjustment of our portfolio to the current and future conditions.

Acquisition target of 300 million looming very closer
This year, 2017, MÄHREN AG has already expanded its portfolio by altogether 14 apartment buildings in Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig and Magdeburg with altogether 407 residential units. In addition, a residential portfolio with 27 buildings was acquired and an investment made in a commercial property in Berlin City-West. This has pushed the total investment volume since the beginning of the year to about 180 million euros.

“The equity capital base reinforced by our disposals is helping us in our acquisition strategy. The acquisition pipeline is well filled and with plenty of wind in our sails, we will reach the planned investment volume for 2017 and 2018 of 300 million euros well ahead of schedule and significantly raise our investment goals,” says Mähren.
