Purchase residential real estate in Dresden

MÄHREN AG acquires 350 residential units for 50 million euros and plans purchases for 200 million euros in 2021

Transactions in 2020 amounting to 135 million euros

Berlin, March 11, 2021. MÄHREN AG, a long-term oriented portfolio holder with a focus on residential real estate, looks back on a successful fiscal year 2020 despite all economic restrictions and pandemic-related challenges. Successful purchases were made mainly in the second half of the year, and in total MÄHREN AG was able to complete transactions amounting to 135 million euros last year.

The company, which has its roots in Berlin, now operates almost throughout Germany and has recently extended its radius of action to the Munich conurbation. Across Germany, 350 residential units with a total floor space of around 34,000 square meters have already been acquired for more than 50 million euros in recent months, adding to the portfolio in Berlin, eastern Germany (Magdeburg, Chemnitz, Dresden), the Ruhr region (Essen, Dortmund), Hamburg and Munich. A major component of the purchases: residential complexes, rental houses and land in the Berlin metropolitan region.

In addition to existing properties, MÄHREN AG has also acquired further development projects in the Munich area, among others. The business area is being successively expanded.

In addition to new locations such as the greater Hamburg area and the entire Munich metropolitan area, we continue to invest in and around Berlin despite all regulations and uncertainties - here primarily in rental houses, residential complexes and land. We believe in the capital as an attractive cultural and business location and thus a stable housing market. This year we want to invest at least 200 million euros and further expand our portfolio nationwide.

Recent examples of successful property acquisitions in recent months include a well-maintained residential complex in Dortustraße in Dortmund with nine residential buildings and 52 units, an attractive old building in Maxim-Gorki-Straße in Dresden with 12 units and a well-maintained old building with 30 units in Talstraße in Chemnitz. Further purchases have already been negotiated and are currently ready for notarization.


MÄHREN AG is an owner-managed housing company based in Berlin. The company was founded by CEO Jakob Mähren in 2002. As a long-term oriented portfolio holder, MÄHREN AG buys mainly residential properties throughout Germany with a focus on the Berlin metropolitan region, the Rhine-Ruhr region, Eastern German medium-sized centers, Northern Germany and the Munich metropolitan area.
