MÄHREN AG acquires two apartment buildings in A-locations in Berlin

Berlin, May, 11th 2023. MÄHREN AG, a long-term oriented and nationwide operating portfolio holder with a focus on residential properties, has acquired two residential properties in Berlin’s A-locations. The first property is a very well maintained old building at Paulsborner Strasse 93 on Kurfürstendamm with around 2,500 square meters spread over 21 units. The apartment building was family-owned for a long period of time. Due to the company’s excellent market penetration in its home market of Berlin, the coveted property was sold to MÄHREN AG at an attractive price and a good return. The property at Zossener Straße 20 comprises a total of 1,365 square meters in 21 residential and commercial units. The rental building is very well maintained and is located in the middle of Kreuzberg’s Bergmannkiez, an interesting trendy location in the capital.

The acquired property in Paulsborner Strasse is located in the heart of Berlin in the immediate vicinity of Kurfürstendamm. The micro-location is currently developing very positively. Several real estate projects are reviving the historic splendor of the Ku’damm, and the location offers a variety of shopping opportunities, restaurants and cafés. In addition, the property is excellently connected to public transportation.

Zossener Straße is located in the Bergmannkiez, a trendy neighborhood in Kreuzberg that has been booming for years and continues to gain popularity, especially among the younger generations. The neighborhood is surrounded by numerous cafes, bars and restaurants offering a wide range of culinary delights. The area is also a popular shopping and arts area, with many boutiques, art galleries and craft stores.

Despite the ongoing dislocation in the German residential real estate market, MÄHREN AG continues to invest in A to C locations in high-growth cities with populations of 50,000 and above. Two further purchases in the Ruhr area and Berlin were recently notarized. In the first 4 months of 2023, MÄHREN AG quantifies transactions in the amount of more than 38 million euros in the group of companies through several acquisitions and sales.
