MÄHREN AG acquires portfolio with four old building properties in Dresden

Berlin, November 16, 2020. MÄHREN AG, a long-term oriented portfolio holder with a focus on residential properties, has acquired four old building properties in Dresden with altogether some 50 residential and business units on a total space of more than 3,000 square meters and thus increased its portfolio in the capital of the state of Saxony. The investment volume was some 7 million euros. The current acquisition puts the company’s annual result above that of last year despite all the economic turbulence.

All four buildings are located in sought-after top locations in close proximity to the River Elbe. Two buildings are in the urban district Pieschen, currently one of the fastest developing districts directly adjacent to the newly developed Dresden Harbor City. The other two multi-family houses are in the Neustadt district and thus close to the center of the state capital – one of them in the Leipziger Vorstadt district. The fourth property is located in the Radeberg suburb, a well-located district of Dresden.

The Saxon state capital stands out for its positive demographic development and is an attractive investment location. The building structure of the multi-family houses also compares very well with that in our Berlin core market. Moreover, old buildings are much sought after by tenants in Dresden.

In the coming year too, MÄHREN AG will continue its growth course unabated by acquiring in the main residential properties. “We are already intensively making plans for 2021 and, besides acquisitions in Berlin, Northern Germany, the Rhine-Ruhr region, we will be focusing on our activities in Eastern Germany as per our proven success strategy,” adds Mähren.
