MÄHREN AG continues to significantly expand its German property portfolio in 2021

Transaction volume of more than EUR 220 million in 2021
Nationwide portfolio expands to around 2,000 units
Company reaps the rewards of integrated business model

Berlin, November 9, 2021. MÄHREN AG, a long-term oriented portfolio holder with a focus on residential properties across Germany, is continuing to consistently implement its strategic growth plan and has expanded its residential real estate portfolio in Germany by around 630 units to c. 2,000 units. MÄHREN AG has also confirmed a successful fiscal 2021. With a transaction volume of more than EUR 220 million, the company exceeded its annual targets despite the ongoing challenging economic situation. In terms of acquisitions, MÄHREN AG was particularly active in its home market of Berlin and integrated several residential complexes and apartment buildings into its portfolio.

I am convinced that Berlin will continue its positive development as a major business centre, and that this will have a positive impact on the city’s residential real estate market. In this context, I hope that the real estate industry and the new state government will enjoy a fruitful partnership and come together to tackle the challenges facing the city.

Jakob Mähren, CEO MÄHREN AG

Mähren: “We will certainly continue to invest in Berlin and are committed to significantly expanding our portfolio in the German capital city over the next few years as part of our expansion plan. Currently, around half of our portfolio is located in Berlin”.

In addition to its acquisitions in Berlin, MÄHREN AG acquired residential properties in the Rhine-Ruhr region, including in Essen, Dortmund, Bochum and Oberhausen. “We are constantly identifying attractive investment opportunities in the Ruhr region and will be expanding our geographical radius even further in the future”, says CEO Jakob Mähren. MÄHREN AG also purchased numerous residential properties in mid-sized cities in eastern German, such as Dresden and Frankfurt (Oder) in 2021.

“Overall, we have succeeded in successfully implementing our growth strategy in 2021. The dynamic market developments in our target investment locations have confirmed the merits of our strategy. In addition to the acquisitions, the investment and densification measures we have implemented across our portfolio have also sustainably increased the value of our core real estate portfolio. We have stayed ahead of market developments and have been creating new residential space, particularly in metropolitan areas.

“In view of current economic and political developments, our strategic decisions to position MÄHREN AG to cover a majority of the real estate industry’s value chain and to consistently focus on the digitalisation of our internal work processes is paying off”, adds Jakob Mähren.
